A story of persistence, faith, and academic excellence has emerged from Nigeria, as Ms. Honour Dahunsi achieved a phenomenal First-Class Honours grade at the Nigerian Law School (NLS), officially qualifying her as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
This remarkable achievement is her second major academic feat, cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s brightest young legal minds.
From University Top-Gun to Law School Star
Honour’s journey is a testament to consistent brilliance. Her academic dominance began at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA), where she graduated in 2024 with a stunning 4.81 out of 5.00 CGPA. This made her the best graduating student from the Faculty of Law and the second overall best student across the entire university.
The Nigerian Law School, known for its demanding curriculum and rigorous Bar exams, often challenges even the brightest students. Yet, Honour rose to the occasion, distinguishing herself once again to secure the coveted First-Class status.
Her performance at the NLS, following her university record, places her in an elite circle of Nigerians who have achieved a double First Class in both their undergraduate and professional legal education.

The Village Behind the Success
Reflecting on her journey, Honour was quick to attribute her success not just to hard work, but to a powerful support system.
“This journey was filled with challenges, long hours of study, moments of doubt, and the constant need to keep believing in myself. But through it all, I finished strong through God, and I am grateful for everything this journey came with. Truly, it took a village to raise this latest lawyer,” she shared on LinkedIn.

She gave credit to:
- God’s Grace: Honour stated that His mercy was the bedrock of her success, anchoring her faith to the inspiring biblical verse, Zechariah 4:6–7.
- Unwavering Family Support: She thanked her family for being her “safe place” during the hardest nights, providing crucial prayers and encouragement.
- A Strong Community: She also appreciated her friends and the Christian Law Students Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) Executives, whose shared strength and spiritual support made the intensive law school program “more bearable.”
Honour Dahunsi’s story is a powerful reminder that while talent is essential, the combination of discipline, faith, and a strong support network is the true formula for achieving and sustaining academic excellence at the highest levels. Her journey serves as an inspiration for students facing their own demanding academic mountains.
