Scholarship Examination Details

The ENS International Selection process occurs in two stages:

Preselection: Based on the review of the applicant’s submitted documents.
Final Selection: Shortlisted candidates will sit for written and oral exams (Arts & Humanities) or oral exams only (Sciences).

Each year, ENS offers:

10 positions in Sciences
10 positions in Arts & Humanities

Students can enroll in the third year of a bachelor’s program (Licence 3) or the first year of a master’s program (Master 1).

ENS France Scholarships 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the ENS Scholarships 2026, applicants must:

Be under 26 years old at the time of application.
Apply only once to the International Selection.
Not have lived in France for more than 10 months during the current or previous academic year.
Have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at a university outside France before applying.
Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in a foreign university by September 1, 2026.

*Note: Applicants interested in the Department of Cognitive Studies (DEC) can apply via either the Science or Arts & Humanities track but must contact the DEC to determine the right category based on their background.

Follow this step-by-step process to apply for the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) Scholarships:

Fill and validate the initial application form online.
Within 2 days, you’ll receive an email to activate your account on Dematec, the online platform where all documents are submitted.
Upload all necessary documents in PDF format via Dematec. Ensure your file is complete before submission.
