In an inspiring display of academic brilliance, Asiwaju Oladimeji, a Nigerian scholar, has made headlines after graduating from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) with a perfect 5.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Earning straight As in all 14 courses during his Master’s degree program in Peace, Conflict, and Strategic Studies, Oladimeji’s achievement has set a new benchmark for excellence in Nigerian higher education.

The Journey of an Academic Star

Asiwaju’s academic journey began at Ekiti State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2009. Over the next 14 years, he built a thriving career spanning project management, government administration, GIS analysis, and non-profit leadership.

However, his passion for knowledge and impact never waned. Determined to advance his expertise, he returned to the classroom at Afe Babalola University, a move that would later make him one of the institution’s most celebrated graduates.

Academic Excellence and Recognition

During his studies, Oladimeji maintained a perfect record, scoring ‘A’ grades in all 14 graduate courses, leading to a final CGPA of 5.00. His outstanding performance earned him the prestigious Founder’s Award for Deserving Students, an honor reserved for those who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community service.

Sharing his excitement on social media, he wrote:

“M.Sc. Conflict, Peace, and Strategic Studies. 14 Courses! 14 As! 5.0 Final CGPA! Founder’s Award for Deserving Students! PhD (in-view)! All thanks be to God.”

Commendations from Leaders

Among those who celebrated his success was Dr. Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State and one of Oladimeji’s mentors.

Dr. Fayemi praised his achievement as a reflection of Ekiti’s intellectual tradition, describing him as “a model of discipline, focus, and commitment to lifelong learning.”

He further encouraged Oladimeji to pursue his PhD, expressing confidence that his brilliance will continue to inspire others in academia and beyond.

Beyond the Classroom: A Life of Impact

Outside the academic sphere, Asiwaju Oladimeji is widely recognized as a geospatial technology expert and a passionate sickle cell awareness advocate. Through his various community projects and advocacy initiatives, he has worked tirelessly to promote health awareness and social empowerment across Nigeria.

“Making a positive difference in my community is the driving force behind everything I do,” he shared.

His story is a reminder that true excellence extends beyond grades — it is also about using one’s knowledge and platform to make meaningful change.

A Legacy of Excellence

Asiwaju’s 5.00 CGPA stands as a testament to hard work, focus, and perseverance. From his early years at Ekiti State University to achieving one of the most remarkable academic records in ABUAD’s history, his journey continues to inspire young Nigerians to dream big, stay disciplined, and pursue greatness with integrity.
